Program tegorocznej Miedzynarodowej Konferencji Jesiotrowej powstaje przy współpracy ze Światowym Stowarzyszeniem Ochrony Jesiotra WSCS

Motywem przewodnim 5. Międzynarodowej Konferencji Jesiotrowej będą choroby jesiotra.

W tym roku głównym tematem będą choroby jesiotrów. Główną częścią programu konferencji będą wykłady prowadzone przez dr Scotta LaPatra ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. Dr Scott LaPatra przez ponad 20 lat pracował z branżą pstrąga tęczowego, obecnie jest dyrektorem Działu Badań i Hodowli w Clear Springs Foods Inc. (Buhl, Idaho, USA). Był zaangażowany w ponad 20 organizacji i komitetów związanych ze zdrowiem ryb na szczeblu lokalnym, stanowym, krajowym i międzynarodowym, włączając w to bycie prezydentem Sekcji Zdrowia Ryb przy Amerykańskim Stowarzyszeniu Rybackim (American Fisheries Society). W przeszłości Dr Scott LaPatra pracował z hodowcami w gospodarstwach komercyjnych, stanowych i tradycyjnych nad minimalizacją niekorzystnych efektów występowania wirusów na jesiotry.

Dr LaPatra opracował moduł szkoleniowy, który w 2009r. został zaprezentowany na 6. Światowym Sympozjum Jesiotrowym w Wuhan, Chiny, a w 2010r. w Kanadzie na Wydziale Rybactwa i Ocenologii Instytutu Wód Słodkich Winnipeg. Szkolenie rozpocznie się przeglądem pasożytów, patogenów bakteryjnych i wirusowych u jesiotrów, a w drugiej części uczestnicy skupią się na chorobach wirusowych, które są w tej hodowli najbardziej problematyczne.

Uczestnicy konferencji otrzymają w ramach materiałów konferencyjnych opracowany przez Scotta La Patra ilustrowany skrypt o chorobach jesiotrów. Będzie on dostępny w językach polskim, angielskim i rosyjskim.

Przewidywane ramy czasowe konferencji to 10.00 - 18.00.

Program of the 5th International Sturgeon Conference is developped in cooperation with the World Sturgeon Conservation Society.

Sturgeon diseases will be main issue of the 5th International Sturgeon Conference.

This year for the first time world class specialist Dr. Scott LaPatra will came for this event to Warsaw.

Dr. Scott LaPatra has worked in the rainbow trout aquaculture industry for over 20 years and is currently the Director of Research and Farm Services at Clear Springs Foods Inc. (Buhl, Idaho, USA).  He has been a member of or an officer in over 20 organizations or committees relating to aquaculture or fish health at the local, state, national and international level including being the president of the Fish Health Section of the American Fisheries Society.

In the past Dr. LaPatra has worked with commercial, state, federal and tribal aquaculturists in their efforts to minimize the adverse affects of viruses on sturgeon. Dr. LaPatra has presented sturgeon disease workshops in 2009 at the 6^th International Symposium on Sturgeon that was held in Wuhan, China and in 2010 at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Freshwater Institute in Winnipeg, Canada.

The workshop begins with an overview of the various parasitic, bacterial and viral pathogens of sturgeon and then goes into more detail on the viral diseases of sturgeon since they appear to be the most problematic. After the break, miscellaneous topics are covered and an open discussion is held. Additionally, each workshop participant is given a sturgeon disease booklet as a reference.

The conference will start at 10 am and it will end about 6pm.
